Martha T. Truty

(nee Tobin)

Age 79, of Morris, IL passed away peacefully at home Monday, January 4, 2021.  She was born April 1, 1941, in Chicago, IL to the late Rosemary (nee Bloom) and Eugene Tobin. She moved with her family at a young age to Galesburg, IL where she was raised and educated graduating from Corpus Christi High School with the class of 1959.  She then attended Northwestern School of Nursing in Chicago where she earned an RN license.  Martha continued her education at Barat College in Lake Forest, IL.

Surviving are her husband, Robert F. Truty, Sr.; three sons, John Edward "Jay" Truty, Robert F. Truty, Jr., and Daniel T. Truty; three grandchildren, Grace Suzanne, Hunter Daniel and Aubree Elaine Truty; one brother, Thomas (Mimi) Tobin, brother-in-law, Thomas Frankel, two nephews and many dear friends.

Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Suzanne Frankel.

Martha began her career as a Nurse at Passavant Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  She was also a flight attendant for United Airlines for over 40 years. 

She will be remembered fondly for her outgoing personality.  She enjoyed good conversation; time spent with her family and get-togethers with her Barat friends.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Memorial Mass for Martha will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 E. Jackson Street in Morris at 11:00 a.m.

Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials in her name can be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
