Obituary of Lorraine F. Ksiazak
Lorraine F. Ksiazak, (nee Cleary), age 85, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center Joliet, following a brief illness.
Born May 16, 1935 in Joliet, to the late Raymond and Mildred (Thomas) Cleary, she was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and worked several years for Illinois Bell.
She married the love of her life, Joseph “Ice Cream Joe” Ksiazak and began her new adventure as a loving wife and mother to her children as she chose to stay at home with them. Joe and Lorraine enjoyed 50 years of marriage until his passing in 2009. Her beloved Goddaughter, Ramie, and two sisters, also preceded her in death.
Lorraine was an active member of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church and the Senior Citizen Association for years which she loved.
She is survived by her loving children, Kathleen “Kathy” (Mark) Schuck and Mark (Jean nee Blackburn) Ksiazak; grandchildren, Matt (Elizabeth nee Doty) Schuck, Aaron (fiancée Kaitlin Shulk) Schuck, Mike (Ronette nee Hutton) Ksiazak; Tom (Nicole nee Vogt) Ksiazak; and Brian Ksiazak; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Caden Hennessy, Stasiu Wojdyla, Jaxon, Payton and Spencer Ksiazak, Josephine Schuck and number eight due in September; her sister, Pat (the late John) Magercak; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Amita Health St. Joseph, and her home therapist, Vanessa, for the kind and loving care they gave to her.
Visitation for Lorraine Ksiazak will be held Monday, January 11, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, (at Essington Road), Joliet. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment in St. Mary Nativity Cemetery, Crest Hill, will be private. Face masks will be required, social distancing will be practiced and limitations on the number of persons in attendance will be in place at both the funeral home and the church.
