Obituary of Mary C. Davisson

Age 78, of Joliet, IL passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021.  She was born July 18, 1942 to the late Ann (nee Sullivan) and James Dwyer in San Francisco, CA where she was raised and educated.

Mary met her husband David A. Davisson at a ballroom dance in San Francisco and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage.

She is the loving mother of Michael (Amy), Joel, Matt and Kevin Davisson; proud and devoted grandmother of Lucy and twins, Adam and Kara.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Dwyer.

Mary retired several years ago from the University of St. Francis where she was employed for many years in the Registrar’s office.  After retirement, she volunteered for several good causes including the Humane Society and Meals on Wheels. In her free time, Mary enjoyed quilting and was a part of the Joliet Quilters Guild.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date when we can all gather safely. 

Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to the Morning Star Mission homeless shelter in Joliet.
