Obituary of Clement G. Walchshauser
Dr. Clement G. Walchshauser, age 73, late of Crest Hill, and formerly of Plainfield, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 15, 2021 at home, with his loving family by his side.
Pastor was born on February 7, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, graduated from South Hagerstown High, and went on to attend college at Washington Bible College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He then continued his education at Dallas Theological Seminary, receiving his Master’s degree, and finishing at Denver Conservative Seminary where he received his Doctor of Divinity.
Pastor Walchshauser served his Lord and Savior in many ministry positions throughout his life. He served as a youth pastor for Hagerstown Bible Church in Hagerstown, MD and First Baptist Church in Carrollton, TX. He served in pastoral roles at Forcey Memorial Church in Silver Spring, MD and Calvary Community Church in Williams Bay, WI. As a church planting pastor, he helped to establish Montgomery Community Church in Gaithersburg, MD and Three Rivers Church in Plainfield, IL.
On June 6, 1970 he married the love of his life, the former P. Anne Bussey, and they spent over 50 wonderful years together raising their four children to love Jesus with all their heart.
Pastor did not just live life; he attacked it with creativity and a spirit-filled joy. He was a wordsmith who enjoyed preaching and every other aspect of life in the ministry. He unashamedly and boldly shared how much Jesus loves each and every one of us. He was fondly referred to as the “Pastor of Spoude” for his uncommon zeal. He lived to connect people with Jesus, believing with all his heart, that a relationship with Jesus is the only way to have peace with God and an eternal home in heaven.
Clem was a talented musician, enjoyed connecting with people while playing games and was an intense sports enthusiast.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Walchshauser; one son, Jeffrey (Anjanette) Walchshauser of Russellville, AR; three daughters, Christina (David) Bartz, Julie (Eric) Fornelli and Nicole (Joel) Hejnar, all of Plainfield; ten grandchildren, Beth Walchshauser, Josiah Fornelli, Hannah Fornelli, Cooper Bartz, Anika Walchshauser, Caleb Bartz, Selah Fornelli, Joe Walchshauser, Grady Bartz and Evan Hejnar; sisters, Carolyn Reel and Sharon Guidice; one brother, Michael Walchshauser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Carlene and Russell Cullison; a brother, Anthony Walchshauser; two sisters-in-law, Carol Walchshauser and Donna Walchshauser; and a brother-in-law, Frederick Reel.
