Linda Jean Gleason

(nee Horschler)

Age 65 of Joliet, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021, at her late residence. She was born in Joliet, the daughter of the late Arthur and Marjorie (Eldridge) Horschler, and was a lifelong resident. She retired from GMAC following 32 years of service. Linda was a devoted mother, who found joy in raising her children into the strong independent adults they have become. In life, she enjoyed the beauties of nature, which included ginkgo trees, dragonflies, and a special love and connection to robins. She most enjoyed sitting on her front porch and taking in all the sunshine and beauty around her. Linda enjoyed the simple pleasures in life including but not limited to chocolate turtles candy.

Surviving are her four children, Brian DePung of Morris, IL, Shawn (Grace) Gleason of Carson City, NV, Megan (Christopher) Terry of Joliet, IL, and Lauren (Cody) Tuider of Joliet, IL; grandchildren, Mira Gleason, April, Eli, Charlotte, Nathanael, Serenity, and Sereno Terry; siblings, James (Valerie) Horschler, David (Valerie) Horschler, Susan (Mike) Prindiville, Daniel (Betty) Horschler and Steven (Linda) Horschler; her dog, Luna and grand dog, Ein. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Linda is preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Ann in infancy and her parents.

Funeral Services for Linda Jean Gleason were held privately by the family with interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.  A public memorial service will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
