Sandra L. Ragusa
Sandra Lee Ragusa, age 77, of Joliet, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, February 8, 2021 in the emergency room of Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center Joliet.
Born August 10, 1943 in Aurora, IL, to the late Preston and Alice (Olsen) Lowe, and was a graduate of Plainfield Central High School. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond and the Women of the Moose.
Sandra was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was always there for her family and friends. She had the ability to light up the room with her pretty blue eyes, her glowing smile and her distinctive laugh. She was a loving and caring soul who put the needs of everyone else before her own and would give you the shirt off her back. She will be remembered for her strength, her acceptance of everyone, and for her wonderful cooking.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 59 years, Phillip P. Ragusa; her loving children, Phillip Ragusa, Jr. of Joliet, David Ragusa of Joliet, the late Dean Ragusa, Debra Ragusa of Plainfield, Diane (Michael) Franciskovich of Plainfield, and Daniel (Jennifer) Ragusa of Plainfield; 22 adoring grandchildren, Phillip III (Monica), Terrence (Ashley), Keith (Amanda), Regina, Mica, Nicole (Edgar), Lily, Chloe, Jen (Randy), Sarah (Fernando), Stephanie (Timothy), Lacey, Trevor, Andrew, Taylor, Allyson, Cole, Michael Dean, Madison, Morgan, Mason, and Samantha; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda, Patsy and Margie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Sandra Ragusa will be held Monday, February 15, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road (at Essington Road), Joliet. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 16, at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Face masks and social distancing will be required at both the funeral home and a church.
