Obituary of Arlene Frances Knauer

Age 88 of Joliet, passed away at home surrounded by the love of her family.  Born Arlene Frances Miner, on October 11, 1932, in Joliet where she was raised and would meet Conrad L. Knauer and marry in 1951.  As they started their family, Arlene wanted girls but got three boys.  As the boys got married she got her girls, Louis (Meri), Conrad (Sandra) and Robert (Suzanne). When the boys started having kids Arlene got more girls.

She is survived by her husband, Conrad L. Knauer Sr.; sister-in-law, Theresa (Kenneth 2013) Miner; her children, Louis (Meri), Conrad L. Jr. (Sandra) and Robert (Suzanne) Knauer; grandchildren, Tammy (Kevin Sr.) Smith, Tina Frost (Lance Heide), Wendy (Edward) Meegan, Chrissy Fisk, Joshua Fisk, Corrie Knauer (Nicholas Rudman), Robert (Alyssa) Knauer, Melissa (Josue) Reyes and Jessica Haggard; great-grandchildren, Kevin Jr. (Megan) Smith, Kyle (Alexis) Smith, Christian Knauer, Hope Meegan, Mariah and Nick Frost, Tyler, Ashlyn and Alyson Fisk, Roberto and Adriana Reyes and Eastyn Rudman; great-great-grandchildren, Owen Smith, Brycen and Daxten Smith; and her caretaker and friend Audra “Audrie” Marino.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents Forrest and Deliliah Miner; five brothers; two sisters; three sisters-in-law; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Rose Frost.

Arlene and Connie greatly enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Joliet Square Dance Club.

Visitation for Arlene Frances Knauer will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd, Joliet, on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 2:00-6:00 p.m.  Facemasks, social distancing and capacity restrictions will be observed. Private family funeral services will be held with interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
