Obituary of Sharon E. Martin

Age 78, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Joliet Area Community Hospice.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, William and May Wolf.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of 53 years; daughters, Jane (Dr. Clint) Farris and Linda (Marc) Rousonelos; grandchildren, Caroline and Andrew Farris, and Quinn Mc Gann; one brother, William (Starr) Wolf; and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon graduated from Lincoln Way Central High School, class of 1960, and Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, class of 1964 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance.  She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority while attending Simpson College and she later took additional courses through Illinois State University and worked as a teacher in District 86, Joliet.  She taught at Sheridan School, Pershing, Taft and Farragut. 

Sharon was an accomplished pianist and played the piano for several singers in the Joliet Area.

Funeral Services for Sharon E. Martin will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Our Savior Lutheran Church 1910 Black Rd. Joliet with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
