Obituary of James Patrick Dwyer
James Patrick Dwyer, formerly of Chicago, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 with his loving family by his side.
Jim was the former owner and operator of Sabia’s Liquor at 54th and S. Halsted.
He was a proud World War II veteran of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Doyle.
James was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed bowling until age 90. He was a regular fixture at Orland Bowl, Tinley Bowl and Centennial Bowling Alley. He also enjoyed watching Chicago sports and having family and friends in his life.
He will be remembered as a quiet man who ended each day in prayer and gratitude.
He is survived by his three children, Kathleen, Lu Ann and Donald; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Joliet Area Community Hospice for all their loving care and support over these last few months.
Services for James Dwyer will be private and burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
