Obituary of Darlene F. Austin

Darlene Austin, age 70, of Morris, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Morris Hospital. She was born on March 28, 1950, in Joliet to the late Donald and Viola Fogarty. Darlene was employed with General Motors for many years.

Darlene was an amazingly talented woman. She enjoyed all types of crafts, and was an extremely gifted seamstress, designing and sewing dresses and Halloween costumes for her family and created custom orders upon request. She could look at anything and draw it freehand like the best artist, perfect shading and all. She was a wonderful cook, as well as a cosmetologist. In her free time, she enjoyed legal trials and true crime documentaries. But above all else, she was a most loving mother and grandmother to her daughters and all of her grandchildren.

Darlene is survived by her two daughters, Kristi (Jesus) Ramos and Tracy Austin; her granddaughters, Caitlyn Reed, Khloe Ramos, Nicole Austin, and Emilie Ramos; her sister, Arlene Martinez; and her nephew Donald Martinez.

She is preceded by her parents; and her husband Glen Kenneth Austin.

Funeral services for Darlene will be private and cremation rites will be accorded. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband Glen at a later date.
