Obituary of Noel R. Alleyne

Age 90, of Plainfield, IL passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

He was born October 7, 1930, the youngest of eight siblings; (Doreen, Sybil, Winifred, Millicent, Ernesta, Leo, and Lisle) in Bridgetown, Barbados where he was raised and educated.  He married Nathalia Woodley of nearby Island, St. Vincent. Together they enjoyed many wonderful years of marriage.  Noel and Nathalia lived in London, England for several years prior to moving to the United States in 1977.

He is preceded in death by his wife Nathalia (1991), his parents, Rupert and Irene, as well as his brothers and sisters.

Surviving are daughters, Thelma (Dancie) Brantley and Grace (Ezekiel) Onyamake; grandchildren, Rebecca Brantley; Jenabie, Don Ezekiel and Nathalia Onyamake. He also leaves great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Noel retired after working for Keebler Co. for several years.  His interests included reading and tinkering with anything electronic.

A Memorial Visitation for Mr. Alleyne will be held Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.,) Joliet.  Facemasks are required and social distancing will be observed.

 A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 15, 2021 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Division St., Plainfield, IL. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials in his name can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
