We celebrate Billie's life today with many fond memories. She was a force of nature. We remember her not only for her work in the Joliet community, but as a cherished friend to our family for generations.

To all of the Limacher kiddos and family, my deepest sympathy. I was part of a wonderful foursome on Thursday mornings for the JCC women's 9 hole group, and Billie and I and Dottie Hart and Linda Thompson probably laughed more than any other group...and it went on through lunch. We only played 9 holes so we could have time for lunch. Every time Billie hit her ball, if we didn't compliment her, she'd say, "Well, aren't you going to say something?" Billie was such a gracious, lovely lady who has been dear to me forever. I'm so happy she got to see 99 years. WOW, I'm not surprised.
She told stories of putting her martini in a metal measuring cup so the kids didn't know she was having a cocktail at happy hour. When Patrick was small, he ran into the street on Woodlawn, and she had been working in the garden, and had a tomato in her hand. She ran out to get Pat and scold him, pulled him out of the street, and while chastising him on the safe sidewalk, she threw the tomato on the sidewalk and it splatted, and she said to Pat, "That's what would happen to you in the street!" We were sharing stories of times when we exaggerated way too much with our children.
You are all lucky to have had her with you for so long...May she rest in peace. I'll send a picture too.

The Lemachers are friends from long ago. I remember going on vacation with them in Wisconsin. What fun we had sking, playing cards, and telling stories. She was a fabulous woman who will be greatly missed.
