John Brogan

Obituary of John J. Brogan

“Life can be hard sometimes but you still have to find the humor in it”—John J Brogan

John J. Brogan escaped this mortal realm on April 18th, 2021 at the ripe old age of 92.

John was an avid gardener, newspaper reader, dog walker, story teller and scourer of cheap Florida properties he would retire too once he considered himself “old enough” to be a retiree.

He was also a robust antique collector. In fact, he has left his family a never-ending collection of antique rusty tools and sample windows and doors from the 80’s that they don’t know what to do with.

If anyone is in the market for such valuable items, please get in touch. Tomorrow would be great.

John leaves behind 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and many other family and friends who will miss him greatly. He also leaves behind his cup of tea in the microwave that he reheated at least 5 times already.

He is preceded in death by his wife Beulah of 59 years who is undoubtedly berating him for really dragging this whole “life” thing out.  He is also preceded in death by his 2 sons and grandson who we hope had a week-old McDonald coffee cup full of wine waiting for him at the pearly gates.

John was certainly one of a kind. On top of being a wonderful, kind, smart, and caring soul, he was also a person people thoroughly enjoyed being around. His blue Irish eyes would sparkle every time he gave a generous laugh while he told one of his famous stories. And even though he thought there was no one funnier than himself, we hope he’s somewhere right now drinking his wine, reading his obit, and most of all, laughing.
