Obituary of Frank Grabowski
Frank Grabowski, age 73, of Morris, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the Morris Hospital. Born May 28, 1947, to the late Regina (Stasiek) and Casimir Grabowski in Chicago where he was raised and educated, a graduate of Weber High School and Devry Institute of Technology. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
On June 21, 1975, he married Catherine Rohlicek.
In addition to Cathy, his wife of nearly 46 years, he is also survived by four sons, Benjamin (Amy) Grabowski, Jonathan (Nichole) Grabowski, James (Amanda) Grabowski and David Grabowski (Tara); grandchildren, Calvin, Dexter, Graham, Everett, and baby girl Grabowski due in the Summer. His sister Ann (Robert) Kain; sister-in-law, Michele (Vince) SanFilippo; brother-in-law, Jim (Judy) Rohlicek and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Jeffrey Kain.
Frank was employed as an Information Technology Specialist and also worked for numerous years at Com Ed LaSalle Station. He was an avid blogger with a focus on cars, humor, and beer. He thoroughly enjoyed the spontaneous garage parties and gatherings with family, especially of the unannounced, random variety.
As it was Frank’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Friday, April 23, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W. Route 6 (at Deerpath Drive) in Morris. A celebration of his life with sharing of memories will follow the visitation at 7:30 p.m. Facemasks and social distancing will be required. Kindly omit flowers.
