Obituary of Matthew Davisson
Age 45, of Joliet, IL passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 24, 2021. He was born on July 5, 1975, the son of the late Mary C. (nee Dwyer) and David A. Davisson in Joliet, IL. Matthew graduated with the Class of 1993 from Joliet West High School and went on to the University of Illinois in Champaign where he received a Bachelor’s degree.
Matt enjoyed cooking, was a diehard Cubs fan, a proud Illini alumnus and sports fan, a loving uncle, and an animal lover – especially the family dog, Cleo.
Matt is survived by his brothers, Michael (Amy), Joel and Kevin Davisson; nieces and nephew, Lucy and twins, Adam and Kara. He will also be remembered fondly by many longtime friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Matthew Davisson will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Will County Humane Society would be appreciated.
