Kenneth Trandel

Kenneth Trandel, age 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Edward Hospital in Naperville.  Ken was born on September 6, 1935, the son of the late John and Viola (nee Lehmann) Trandel.  Born and raised in Chicago, IL, he was a graduate of Lane Tech High School.    Ken retired in 1993 as the Regional Compliance Auditor for Prudential Insurance after 40 years of dedicated service.  He was a volunteer at Edward Hospital for 15 years and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan for 75 years.  

Ken was a very gentle and understanding husband, father, and grandfather who always had a positive outlook.  He will be missed by all who loved him.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Virginia A. (nee Vondrak); his daughter, Pam (Leo) Voitik; son, Scott Trandel; and 7 grandchildren. He will be especially missed by his two grandsons, Brian M. Welch and Mark K. Welch, who loved him like a father.

He is preceded by his parents; one sister, Viola Forbell; and one brother, Robert Trandel.

A Memorial Gathering for Kenneth Trandel will be held privately by the family at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL.  As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded.
