Obituary of Kenneth W. Papesh

Kenneth W. Papesh, age 64, of New Lenox, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Lakeshore Rebab and Healthcare in Joliet.

Born September 19, 1956 in Joliet, he was the son of Leroy M. and Gail E. (Gehrke) Papesh and was a graduate of Plainfield Township High School. 

Prior to his retirement, Ken worked as a trim carpenter with the Carpenters Union Local #174.  He was a craftsman and took tremendous pride in his workmanship, both on the job and in his woodworking creations for family and friends.  Ken was a long-time member of the Joliet Muzzleloaders and was known as a true marksman.  Most notably, he was a gentleman, a supportive and thoughtful son to Leroy and Gail, brother to Sharon, and friend to many.

He is survived by his loving mother, Gail E. Papesh of Joliet; his brother-in-law, Les DePratt; a large extended family and great friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy; his sister, Sharon DePratt; and by many of his aunts and uncles in the Gehrke and Papesh families.

Per his request, services for Ken will be private and there will be no visitation.  Cremation rights have been accorded.  Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
