Obituary of Ida DelRose

Ida DelRose
(nee D'Orazio)

Ida DelRose, age 89, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021, at her home in Channahon, surrounded by the love of her family.  Ida was born on September 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Crescenzo and Palma (nee Celidonio) D'Orazio.  She was a lifelong resident of Joliet.

Ida was a devout catholic with strong faith who believed in the power of prayer.  She was a former parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a member of the American Italian Cultural Association.   In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and going to the casino.  She could be described as a feisty, vibrant woman with a loving personality. Ida enjoyed dancing at get-togethers, was extremely close to her sisters, and loved her family more than anything.

Ida is survived by her children, Gina (Mark) Kulesza of Naperville, Angelo (Terrie) Proia of Channahon, and Lisa (Dennis) Carey of Punta Gorda, FL; her grandchildren, Brianna (Abel Rodriguez) McEvilly and Oliva Kulesza; great-grandson, Niko James Rodriguez; and her sisters, Nancy (Paul) Corsetti and Rita (Richard) Mattea. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years, Emanuel C. "Manny" DelRose (April 4, 2013); her parents; and her sisters and their spouses, Eva (Alex) Galounis, Anna (George) Knoop, and Josephine (Joseph) Srsnick.
