Cody was born April 6, 1997 in Joliet, IL to Kathy (nee Vaught) and James “Jim” Tietz. Despite his many challenges, he was very expressive, especially in the unique way he could radiate the vibe of love and warmth while in his presence.
In addition to his devoted parents, Code-Man is also survived by his loving sister, Kristin (Matt) Cetta; cherished niece, Carsyn; and beloved grandmother, Caryl Tietz. Cody will also be lovingly remembered by his aunt and Godmother, Sue (Tom) Flynn; Godfather, Mike Scarpino; aunts and uncles, Tom (Angela) Tietz, Don (Pam) Tietz, Sue (Mike) Zoppa, and Buddy (Denise) Vaught. He will also be missed by many cousins.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Miller and Beverly Vaught and Adolph “Red” Tietz as well as his aunt Nan and uncle Jack Petty.
The Tietz family will be forever grateful for the kindness of many including his amazing caregivers throughout the years, Janet, Beth, Bre, Brenda, Denna and Kay Lynn; the staff and pharmacists at the Jewel-Osco on Caton Farm and Rt 59 for relentlessly pursuing and coming through in providing timely prescriptions always; Dr. Rita Tamulis Shea, Dr. Thomas Moore, Dr. Peter Heydemann, Dr. Mary Keen and Dr. Randolph McConnie for the steady guidance, support and a shoulder to lean on.
