Obituary of Jacqueline Lea Stukel
Jacqueline Lea Stukel, (nee Rogers), age 79, of Joliet, and a lifelong Joliet area resident, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 17, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 26, 1941 in Joliet, she was the daughter of Jack and Dorothy (Kompare) Rogers.
She worked as a teacher’s aide at Thomas Jefferson Grade School where she worked with special needs children and taught sign language. She also taught at Bobbie Noonan Preschool. She thoroughly enjoyed working with children.
Jackie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and delighted in seeing her first great-grandchild. She was an amazing, wonderful and caring grandmother who loved spoiling her grandchildren, taking them to the movies, and shopping.
She enjoyed attending her swimming exercise classes, going to lunch with her many girlfriends, going to Florida in the winter with her husband and daughter, making Christmas special for her family, and, of course, loved going shopping.
Jackie was a breast cancer survivor and an inspiration to her family and many others. She had a huge beaming smile that would light up any room, and will be remembered for what a kind, sweet, loving and beautiful soul she was.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Robert J. Stukel; three loving children, Kim (Scott) Libersher, Jeff (Sandra) Stukel and Tom (Lisa) Stukel; her adoring grandchildren, Kayleigh (Dan) Condon, Krista (Brian) Paros, Lenny (Olivia) Libersher, Anthony Contreras, Mya Stukel, Jake Stukel, Ezra Stukel, Danta Stukel, and Alita Stukel; one great-grandson, Dallas James Condon; one sister, Terry (Steve) Kostelec; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Stukel in 2021; a grandson, Jacob Stukel; and her parents.
