Obituary of Jimmie Dale Green
Jimmie Dale Green, age 84, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Friday, July 2, 2021 at Lightways Hospice with his family by his side.
Born March 9, 1937 in Tupelo, MS, he was the son of Rudolph “Red” Green and Margie M. Hedgespeth Green.
Jimmie worked as a machine operator for S&G Packaging in Plainfield for 26 years.
He was an avid motorcyclist and a former member of the Quad City Eagles. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, and feeding the ducks. Jimmie was a loving and devoted husband and father who will be remembered for his big heart and always put the needs of others before his own.
Surviving are his sons, Michael (Shanika) Green of Madison, WI and Ronald Green of Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Theresa Green Day; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Johnson Green, in 1994, and a son, James Green.
A Memorial Gathering for Jimmie will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, (at Essington Road), Joliet, and will be followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
