Obituary of Dolores Graham

Dolores M. Graham (nee Haas) "Lori" Age 81, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2010 with her family at her side. Lori was a long time resident of Joliet and currently resided at "The Inn at Willow Falls", Crest Hill. Lori was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and other organizations. Lori graduated in 1944 from St. Xavier's High School, Ottawa, IL and from Joliet Junior College in the 1970's. She started teaching in 1945 in a one-room country school in Ottawa, IL. She met Marion Graham at a barn dance and they were married on October 2, 1948. They moved to Joliet in 1950. Lori taught in numerous local area Catholic and public schools until the 1970's. Lori was employed as a Bailiff in the Will County Courthouse in 1977 until she retired in 1989. Lori and Marion enjoyed dancing at the VFW, laughing with friends and traveling. Lori was very generous with her grandchildren. Lori was preceded in death by her loving and caring husband, Marion in 2004, a great-granddaughter, Morgan Wharry, her parents, George and Hannah Haas (Ottawa, IL), two brothers and two sisters. Lori is survived by her loving and devoted children, Daniel (Patricia) Graham and Marilyn (Patrick) Wharry; four wonderful grandchildren, Tricia (Richard) Parkhurst, Timothy (Julia) Wharry, Matthew Graham and Julie (Brian) Van Acker; and six delightful great-grandchildren, Madeline Wharry, Macey Wharry, Brooke Parkhurst, Garret Parkhurst, Caitlin Van Acker and Ryan Van Acker. Special thanks to the Staff at "The Inn at Willow Falls" and Vitas Hospice Care for the compassionate care given to Lori and her family. A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on January 20, 2010. Arrangements by: FRED C.
