Joseph A. Kmetty
Joseph A. Kmetty, age 55, of Plainfield, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL. He was born and raised in Chicago, formerly of Justice, living in Plainfield for the past 25 years. Joe graduated from Quigley South High School in Chicago with the Class of 1983 and attended ITT Technical Institute. He was formerly employed by Lewis University in the Facilities Department. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Joe is survived by his wife, Eileen (Needham) Kmetty; his two children, Christopher Kmetty and Marissa Kmetty; his mother, Shirley (Pavel) Kmetty; and his siblings, George (Paula), Judi, Jim (Dana), John (Jackie), and Jason (Joanne) Kmetty. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded by his father, George Kmetty (1996).
Visitation for Joseph A. Kmetty will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery in Oak Lawn.
