Obituary of Henry J. Farber

Henry J. Farber of Plainfield and formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 16, 2021, at his home.  Henry was born in Germany, the son of the late Luis Johann Elias and Margaretha Elizabetha Georgina (Lang) Faerber.  Henry was employed as an upholsterer, retiring in 1993.  He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.  Henry enjoyed carpentry and was a jack of all trades.  If he couldn’t fix it, nobody could.

Survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Cornelia “Nellie” Mathilda (Schmidt) Farber of Plainfield; his two children, Gisela (the late Anthony Lee) Denton of Plainfield, and Roland Henry (Patricia) Farber of Buffalo Grove, IL; grandchildren, Richard Scott (Dionne) Denton, Lisa Marlene (Jesse) Harper, Jeffrey Alan Denton, Timothy Roland (Michele) Farber and Scott Charles (Katherine) Farber; great-grandchildren, William Andrew, Robert Henry, and Joline Antionette Denton, and Orion Timothy and Heather Maia Farber; one niece and two nephews in Germany; and many cherished friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nikol and Martin Faerber.

Visitation for Henry J. Farber will be Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m.  Enshrinement will be Friday, August 20, 2021, at 12:00 noon, at Irving Park Cemetery Mausoleum, Chicago.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Misericordia, 6300 N. Ridge Avenue, Chicago, 60660 would be appreciated.
