Obituary of Cheryl A. Doty
Cheryl A. Doty, age 65, of Diamond, IL, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at Morris Hospital, Morris, IL. She was born on February 18, 1956 to the late Floyd and Francis (nee Bartley) Doty.
Cheryl grew up in Joliet, IL. She earned her cosmetology degree while attending Joliet West High School. She was a hairdresser all of her adult life, most recently for Twin Oaks Coiffures.
She had a love for hair and making sure her clients looked their best. She was a devoted grandma who lived for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Elder; her grandchildren, Gavin and Dakota White; sister, Crystal Doty; brother, Richard (Julie) Doty; sister-in-law, Kathy Doty; aunts, Dorothy Doty, Jo Doty, and Carol Godsey. Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Steve” Mays; her parents; and brother, Roger Doty.
A Memorial Service for Cheryl will be Thursday, August 26th, 2021, 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Coal City, 4470 E. Route 113, Mazon, IL, with Pastor David Gilleland officiating. Inurnment will be Friday, August 27, 12 Noon at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to her family.
