Donna Marie (Daily) Gilchrist

Age 84, of Mazon, IL passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Donna was born August 27, 1937, in Putnam County, Grandville, IL to Raymond and Bernice Daily Wilson.  She married Richard Gilchrist in August of 1958.

She was a member of New Community Christian Church, Morris, IL.

She worked as a telephone operator for five years at Illinois Bell in Morris and also worked for Rockwell International located in Gardner and Downers Grove, IL for eleven years.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Gilchrist, and daughters, Penny (Scott) Graham, Barb (Ken) Spelde, and Bev (Tim) Halliday; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother, Larry (LaVerta) Daily, and sister, Joanne (Jerry) Helland.

Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Betty Noel and Alice Larson.

Visitation for Donna will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W. Rt. 6 (at Deerpath Dr.) in Morris.  A service of remembrance will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m. to conclude the evening.  As it was Donna's wish, cremation rites will be accorded and her final earthly remains will be interred at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials in her name can be made to New Community Christian Church building fund.
