Obituary of Willard C. Johnson

Age 65, of Rockdale, IL, and a longtime area resident, passed from this life Thursday, September 2, 2021.  He was born September 24, 1955 to the late Nona and Edgar Henry Johnson in Michigan where he was raised and educated.

Will, a proud United States Marine Corp. Veteran was honorably discharged in December of 1976.

He retired from the Ironworkers, Local 444 after many years of dedicated service.  He was an avid collector of antiques and would be most remembered offering the “unique” at shops in Wilmington and Morris over the years.  Will also was proficient in watch repair.

Surviving is his brothers, Harry, Roger and Henry “Hank” Johnson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katie Marie Johnson Loftis and brother, Garry Johnson, Sr.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Noon at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. The procession will depart the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where Interment with Military Honors will begin at 1:30 p.m.
