Obituary of Barbara J. McMannis
With great joy, Barbara McMannis went to her heavenly home on September 24, 2021. Barbara was born on March 5th, 1930 in Chicago but is considered TIMELESS! Her lucky parents were the late Florence (nee Sullivan) and Richard Williams.
She grew up in La Grange, IL. She attended Lyons Township High School and Gregg Business School.
She worked at Lewis University for 53 years and was lovingly called “The PRES” by her children! She was a member of the Mothers Club and block party social club. She enjoyed movies, traveling, and had a passion for reading and a good glass of Merlot! Barb will always be remembered for jokes, laughter, and her OVER the TOP generous nature!
Barbara is survived by her husband of 20 years, Gerald “Butch” McMannis of Shorewood, IL; daughter, Sharon Himes of Algonquin, IL; step-children, Darla (Terry) Kemnetz and Charlie McMannis; 4 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; dear sister, Judy Williams; sweet daughter-in-law, Norma Noller of Kearney, NE. Many nieces, nephews, loving friends, and family also survive.
Preceded in death by her parents; son, Patrick Noller; sister, Patsy Skoda; and brother, Larry Williams.

Memorial Visitation for Barbara will be Sunday, October 24, 2021, 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. There will also be a private family Memorial Service at a later date.
