Obituary of Michael S. Tagliere
Michael “Mike” Tagliere, also known as “Tags”, age 39, late of Lebanon, Tennessee, and formerly of Plainfield IL, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at TriStar Summit Medical Center, Hermitage, TN.
Born September 16, 1982 in Berwyn, IL, he was the son of Fred J. III and Shirley A. (Pikul) Tagliere, and was a graduate of Plainfield Central High School, Class of 2000.
Mike was employed by FantasyPros as lead NFL writer. He was a genius at statistics and his articles, podcasts and interviews reflected his passion for football. He also had a reputation for saying exactly how he felt, without sugar coating his words, even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. He believed it was more important to be honest. Mike prided himself on “working harder than anyone” and he put in time and dedication to bring all of those inspired by his work the highest of quality analysis. He was warm, friendly, and inspiring, and anybody who listened to him speaking or had the pleasure of reading his articles could feel his personality and sense of humor.
In addition to loving sports, watching sports, and writing about sports, he made time to enjoy his other passions which included golf, his Mustang, car club and music, especially his favorite band, “Korn”. Mike was also an aspiring novelist who was more than halfway finished with his first book.
Nothing, however, was more important than his family who he loved intensely. He and his wife, Tabbatha “Tabbie”, were proud of their relationship and their love for each other defined them. Despite all his accomplishments, he viewed family as his greatest achievement and fulfillment, and his love for them drove him to be the best husband, father, son, and brother that he could be.
Mike will be remembered as a mentor whose words and example inspired and touched the lives of many. He was passionate and focused, and despite his extreme stubbornness, he encouraged and energized his friends and fans to put their hearts and souls into everything they did. His self-discipline and self-motivation were admired examples of his “Mike Won’t Quit (MWQ)” attitude which drove him to succeed at everything to the best of his ability.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Tabbatha “Tabbie” (McComb) Tagliere; his two adoring children, Alyssa and Jonathan; and his loving mother, Shirley (James) Tagliere Moore. He is also survived by his sister, Melanie Tagliere; his brother, Nicholas (Brandi) Tagliere; his nieces and nephews, Madison, Ruben, Alexis, Alexiana, Addisyn, Gianna and Nathan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and members of the extended McComb family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred J. Tagliere, III., and his grandparents Stanley and Geraldine Pikul and Lee Rago and Al.
Although Mike led a public life, his family asks your understanding in their need for his visitation and funeral service to be private.
