Obituary of Patricia A. Connor
Patricia A. Connor
Patricia A. Connor, age 63, passed away on September 30, 2021. Patricia was born on July 21, 1958, the daughter of Matthew and Josephine Connor. She was a lifelong resident of Joliet and a graduate of St. Francis Academy, Class of 1976. Patricia continued her education at Illinois State University, where she received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education. Patricia was a dedicated teacher shaping the lives of hundreds of children for more than 30 years in the Plainfield School District 202. She started her career in Early Childhood Special Education and retired as a Kindergarten teacher.
Patricia enjoyed the simple things in life; whether it was planting flowers to enjoy their beauty or listening to the music of James Taylor and Carole King. Although she loved her career and the rewards that came along with it, her role as a mother and grandmother is what truly defined her. Her family meant everything to her. Patricia enjoyed photography and being creative; making scrapbooks that she would share with family and friends. She will be remembered for her caring nature and the love she had for her family.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Emily (Jeff) LaRocque; grandchildren, Josephine and Ramona LaRocque; her parents, Matthew and Josephine Connor; one sister, Mary (John) LeGrand; two brothers, Paul (Lori) Connor, and Thom (Debra) Connor; and her faithful canine companion and best friend, Minnie. Several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She is preceded by her son, Matthew Chouinard; a brother in infancy, Joseph Connor; and her grandparents, Paul and Mary Connor, and Carmelo and Rosaria Giacchino.
Funeral Services for Patricia A. Connor will be held privately by the family. Inurnment took place at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Sesame Workshop would be appreciated.
