Russell F. Griffin
"Bud"
Age 90. Passed away Thursday November 12, 2009 at Provena Villa Franciscan. Born in Joliet to the late Roy and Margaret (nee Blum) Griffin, he was a lifetime resident. A WWII Army Air Corp veteran. Retired in 1985 from Shelby Craftco following 48 years of service as an auto body trimmer. Member of VFW Cantigny Post #367 and the American Legion Harwood Post #5. He was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, June M. Griffin (1999); one son, Kurt R. Griffin (1992).
Survived by his granddaughter, Kelly of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Katelyn and Brittany Beuttner; one brother, Gerald (Judy) Swango of Joliet; one sister, June (James) Gibbs of New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Susan (Felipe) Sanchez of Lockport; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Russell F. Griffin will be Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation WEDNESDAY MORNING 9:30 a.m. until time of services at:
