Jeanette May Zurek

Age 78, of Minooka, IL and formerly Steger and Riverdale, IL passed from this life early Saturday morning, October 9, 2021 at the Morris Hospital.

She was born February 13, 1943, in Harvey, IL where she was raised and educated.

Surviving are her sons and daughters, Scott (Jeanne) Zurek, Darlene (Mark) Bowen, Theresa (Lawrence) Keys and Thomas (Raquel) Zurek; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Brandon, Judy Connors, Linda Golba and James Brandon as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by her husband, Richard T. Zurek (2006); her parents, Clersa and Charles Brandon; brother, Carl Brandon and three sisters, Mary Lou Long, Clara Kobleski and Jean Jorsch.

Jeanette will be remembered as a warm and caring soul with a beautiful smile and an incredible love for her family. Her favorite title was Grandma, and then life became even more amazing as she became Great-grandma. Her most cherished activity was creating memories with her family. During quieter moments she loved to sew and read. Her IPad became her new passion. Internet apps and Amazon shopping became her favorite pastimes. She is greatly loved and will be missed.

Visitation for Jeanette will be on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet.  From 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 8:00 p.m.  Interment will take place later at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
