Obituary of Paula K. Kurator
Paula K. Kurator, age 56, of Crest Hill, IL entered eternal life on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, IL. She was born July 30, 1965 in Benton, IL.
Survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, John Kurator; beloved children, Ashleigh Kurator, Elizabeth Kurator, Adam (Alexandra) Kurator, and Mary-Katherine (Daniel Austin) Kurator; beloved grandchildren, Lillian Carmichael-Kurator, Allison Lamping-Kurator, Memphis Kurator, Mary Kurator, and Scarlett Kurator; loving parents, Pamela Morris and Paul Morris; dear sisters, Jennifer (Bob) Boyd and Jessica (Chris) Schaefer; dear brothers, Ryan (Jennifer) Morris and Matthew (Luciana) Morris; dear sister and brother-in-law Mary Aileen (John) Marcus and Andrew Kurator; devoted friend to six amazing women who have been there for each other for decades. Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.
Paula grew up in Plainfield and graduated from Plainfield High School, Class of 1983. She attended Joliet Junior College and worked throughout her career in medical and church business offices. She was a past member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond, Joliet, where she was a Lector & Eucharistic Minister. She is a current member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Crest Hill, where she shared the gift of her voice as a cantor and in church choirs. Music was a main form of prayer for Paula, with a strong devotion to Mary.
Paula enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She appreciated classic cars, especially Corvettes and she had extensive knowledge of Corvette facts.
Most of all, Paula was a wonderful and loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to spend time and take care of her family. She was actively involved in her kids and grandkids lives. Her grandchildren will always cherish the memories of baking with her. Paula always brought joy and spunk everywhere she went and most importantly love.
Visitation for Paula K. Kurator will be Wednesday, October 13, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road (at Essington Road), Joliet. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1711 Burry Circle, Crest Hill, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Use of facial masks are required at the funeral home and at church.
Interment will follow at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, Joliet.
