Obituary of John E. Glusak

Age 64 of Joliet, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center.  He was born in Chicago and formerly of Chicago Ridge relocating to Joliet in 1996.  John graduated from Bogan High School, Chicago, with the Class of 1975.  He retired from the Chicago Transit Authority in 2010 following 19 years of service.

 John was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and camping.  He was an avid Chicago Bears Fan and he loved western movies, his favorite actor being John Wayne.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Margaret “Margie” (Tassone) Glusak; his two sons, John and Michael Glusak; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob and Greyson.

John is preceded by his parents, Harry and Mary Lou (McGrath) Gazzola; his brother, James Glusak; his maternal grandmother, Agnes McGrath; and his in-laws, Michael and Annabelle (Brown) Tassone.

Visitation for John E. Glusak will be Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, from 3:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Rt. 59 and east on Plainfield-Naperville Road, Plainfield, IL,  for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL.

Memorials in his name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
