Raul Rodriguez

Raul Rodriguez, age 68, passed away peacefully at his home in Joliet, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born in Mexico on September 2, 1953, the son of the late Juan and Tomasita (nee Sandoval) Rodriguez.  Raul grew up and attended college in Mexico before relocating to Joliet, IL where he raised his family.  He was the current Owner/Operator of Raul Rodriguez Landscaping that he established in 1987. 

Raul was a hardworking man who was dedicated to taking care of his family.  He was adventurous and loved trying new things.  He enjoyed old classic cars, motorcycles, and listening to the Beetles. Most important to him was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.   Raul was a barrier breaker with a vision who was loved by all who knew him. 

Raul is survived by his loving wife of  44 years, Maria (nee Valadez) Rodriguez; four children, Juana (Francois Akoto) Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez, Mariana Rodriguez, and Brenda Rodriguez; six grandchildren, Julian, Darian, Valerie, Adrian, Kamila, and Alessa; and his siblings, Miguel (Tomasa) Rodriguez, Oliva (Gelacio) Barajas, Roberto (Irene) Rodriguez, Guadalupe (Froylan) Serna, and Arturo (Luisa) Rodriguez.  Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

He is preceded by his parents; and two brothers, Francisco Rodriguez and Rafael Rodriguez.

Funeral Services for Raul Rodriguez will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel,  205 E. Jackson St., Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. In accordance with the State of Illinois guidelines, masks will be required.
