Obituary of Lawrence James Kinsella, Jr.

Lawrence James Kinsella, Jr., age 61, passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 8, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL.  He was born October 26, 1960 in Joliet, IL to the late Idann (nee Donahue) and Lawrence James Kinsella, Sr.

Survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Julie (nee Adamic) Kinsella; his loving children, Andrew (Kelly Richardson) Kinsella, Patrick (Lauren) Kinsella, Christina (Michael) Kennedy, Michael (Andrea) Kinsella, and Matthew Kinsella; his adoring grandchildren, Eleanor, Coraline, Benjamin, Rosemary, Cooper, Lyla and Miller; his dear brothers, Scott (Daina) Kinsella, Douglas (April) Kinsella, and James (Shawn Parkerson) Kinsella; and lifelong friend, James Stangle.  Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.

Preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Lawrence was lifelong resident of Joliet.  He attended Cathedral of St. Raymond Grade School and Joliet Catholic Academy.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed music.  He loved to play with his grandchildren and spend time with his close friends and extended family. His warm, loving, and strong presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, through the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus.

Visitation for Lawrence James Kinsella, Jr. will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of prayers at 12:15 p.m., to Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
