It was great to get to know Mary and Bill through Holy Apostles Parish. My mother-in-law was from Chicago — and Lamont — and it was wonderful to hear their Chicago accents in far away Boise.
Mary and I were adoration partners for at least ten years, praying collectively for our families. Bill had a 4:00am time slot — what a trooper!!
On a trip back to Lamont, I left a rosary near Mary’s right hand. I hope it’s still there. We prayed a lot of rosaries together.
God bless the wonderful Kasten family for supporting our Catholic outpost here. I’ll miss Bill greeting me in his garage office. My dad was a realtor too, and even after Mary’s death, her presence, watching over Bill in their lovely home, was palpable. I pray their family will always be blessed by their parents’ deep faith in Christ.
