Mary A. Brassel
Age 64, of Joliet, IL and formerly the Bronzewood neighborhood of Chicago, passed from this life Friday, November 19, 2021.
She was born November 13, 1957 to the late Alice (Covington) and Andrew Brassel in Chicago where she was raised and educated.
Mary was employed for 33 years by the U.S. Postal Service beginning at the South Suburban facility in 1988. In 1992 she transferred to the Fox Valley facility where she spent the rest of her career serving faithfully and enjoying many friendships along the way.
She is the beloved mother of LaShanda Brassel and Shinell Brassel; proud and devoted grandmother of Taylor, Elijah and Brandon Brassel; Syriah Sherrod and DeShaun Brassel; dearest sister of Vergie (the late Pruitt) Collier, Andrew Brassel, the late Willie Brassel, Walter Brassel, Roberta (Michael) Jones, Anthony Brassel and Patricia (the late Earl) Whitehead. Mary will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, brother, Willie and brothers-in-law, Pruitt and Earl, she is also preceded in death by her nephew, LaDale Brassel.
Mary, an active member and Deaconess of True Deliverance Apostolic Ministries in Crest Hill, served in various capacities over the years.
Funeral services for Mary Brassel will be held at True Deliverance Apostolic Ministries, 1298 Theodore Street in Crest Hill, IL. Visitation will begin Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 10 a.m. until services start at 11 a.m. Entombment will be private.
