Andree N. Jankiewicz, passed away at the age of 85, on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, with her loving family by her side.  Andree  was born in Guebwiller, Haut-Rhin, France on December 19, 1935, the daughter of the late Achille and Mathilde Henriette (nee Jacob) Risser.  She grew up in  Alsace-Lorraine, France.  Andree immigrated with her husband, Adolph, and 2 small children to the United States and became a naturalized citizen, settling in the southwest side of Chicago. 

Andree was a crafter.  She enjoyed knitting, flower arranging and coloring.  When her husband was alive they enjoyed dancing to polkas.  Andree retired from her work in 1994.  After retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and a few trips back to her hometown in France to see relatives.  But most important to her, was the time she spent with her family.

Andree is survived by her children, Claire (Patrick) Hanlon, Frank (Teresa) Jankiewicz, Henrietta (David) Wiencek, and Victor Jankiewicz; grandchildren, Heather (Steven) Smith, Michelle (Matthew) Sacremento, Stephanie (Grant) Rowley, Nicole (James) Cottini, and Joseph Wiencek; and four great-grandchildren.  Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

She is preceded by her loving husband of 37 years, Adolph Jankiewicz; her parents; and numerous siblings. 

Funeral Services for Andree N. Jankiewicz will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL.  Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
