Obituary of Brian J. Chmara
Brian John Chmara, age 66, late of Shorewood, and formerly of Westchester, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at home.
Born November 22, 1955 in Chicago, and raised in Berwyn, he was the son of the late Edward C. and Germaine (Tudor) Chmara. He graduated from Morton College, and a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Brian worked as a police officer for the Village of Westchester, and served as a member and evidence technician for the West Suburban Major Crime Task Force. He retired with over 31 years of dedicated service.
A caring person who was always pleasant, Brian enjoyed fishing, genealogy, poker and photography. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and how he loved to play practical jokes on his daughters and friends.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 21 years, Sharon (Fazio) Chmara; three loving daughters, Kimberly, Heather and Stevie; three brothers, Ken (Debbie) Chmara, John (Rose) Chmara and David (April) Chmara; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites have been accorded and services with interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be at a later date.
