Obituary of Mary Guest

Mary Beth Guest (nee DelRose) Age 59, of Joliet, passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center with her family by her side. Born March 31, 1950 in Joliet to Mary (nee Zimmerman) and the late Victor DelRose, she was a lifelong resident. Mary enjoyed her career in healthcare; she was a nurse at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center Interim Healthcare and also cared for many patients with Joliet Area Community Hospice. In addition, she was an instructor of the CNA Program at Joliet Junior College for several years. She was the beloved mother of Elizabeth Anne (Donald Gene) Rivera III of Joliet; proud and devoted grandmother of Caitlin Elizabeth Rivera; loving daughter of Mary E. DelRose of Crest Hill; dear sister of Victoria (Steve) Kula of Frankfort; fond aunt of Nicholas Kula; also surviving are her aunt, Barb Weis; cousins, Mark (Christina) Weis and family, and Erica (Chris) Painter and family; and Trichelle Delucio and family, whom Mary Beth thought of as a daughter. Preceded in death by her husband, James (JFD); her father; and uncle, Raymond Weis. Mary Beth had been described as an overly compassionate and extremely loving and caring nurse, who was well respected by her peers. She was a wonderful mother whose greatest passion was being a grandma. The Guest Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nursing staff and fellow co-workers at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center for their loving care; and Fr. Pete Jankowski for his guidance and prayers throughout this most difficult time. Funeral Services for Mary Beth Guest will be Friday, May 15, 2009 at 11:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 noon.
