Obituary of Jane C. Leaman

Jane C. Leaman
(nee Kelly)

Jane C. Leaman, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Plainfield, on Thursday, December 23, 2021, with her loving family by her side after a brief, yet courageous battle with leukemia.  Jane was born in Joliet, on February 9, 1945, the daughter of the late William and Katherine (nee Lee) Kelly. She was a lifelong resident of Plainfield and attended St. Mary Immaculate School, was a graduate of St. Francis Academy with the Class of 1963, and the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1984.  Jane was a caring woman who loved everything about being a nurse: from the care and time she spent with her patients, to the relationships she created with her coworkers.  She retired in 2001 from St. Joseph Hospital after many dedicated years.

A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood and a former parishioner of St. Mary Immaculate in Plainfield.  Jane was a loving mother and grandmother who’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.  She will leave a void in the hearts of all who loved her.

Jane is survived by her three children, Christine (Michael) Sicinski, Robert (Nahrin) Leaman, and Ronald (the late Mary) Leaman; four grandchildren, Abby (fiancé Brandon Kaminski) and Jonathon Sicinski, and Brooke and Brenna Leaman; her siblings, Geraldine (the late Dennis) Morris, John “Jack” Kelly, Raymond (Carolyn) Kelly, James (Susan) Kelly, Paul (Janice) Kelly, Mary Kelly, Patricia Kelly and Thomas (Heidi) Kelly; brother-in-law, Richard (Marian) Leaman; and her sister-in-law, Gerry Kelly.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded by her loving husband, Gerald Leaman; her parents; brother, William Robert Kelly; brothers-in-law, Donald Leaman, and Gerald Johnson; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Leaman and Sally Johnson.
