Edward Walter Deems
 

Age 67, of Shorewood, IL passed away at home, Sunday, December 26, 2021.  He was born March 29, 1954 in Ossining, NY to the late Mildred and Edward M. Deems.
 

A U.S Army Veteran who served in Germany and Hawaii until he was honorably discharged in 1976.
 

Ed is survived by his son, Edward G. (Jennifer) Deems; daughter, Cheryl Morgan (Ryan Hansen); step-sons, Don (Libby) Clark and Dean Clark; grandchildren, A.J. Edward, Athena, Ethan, Cassandra, Kaylin, Ava and Aiden; two great-grandchildren, Arlo and William; a brother, Jeff Deems; sister Cindy Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Ann Deems; and his parents.
 

Ed was employed as a truck driver for many years.  His hobbies included fishing, bowling, horseshoes, card games, chess, pool and any other strategy game that would challenge and expand his consciousness.
 

Visitation for Edward Walter Deems will be Friday, December 31, 2021 from 9:00-10:15 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet.   Procession to the cemetery will follow at 11 a.m.  Committal prayers and Military Honors will begin at approximately 12:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Cemetery's Christ the King Mausoleum in Hillside.  Entombment will follow with his late wife in Christ the King mausoleum.
