Kendall B. Wonders

Kendall B. Wonders, of Joliet, passed away at the age of 81, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center.  He was born on December 21, 1940 in Lockport, IL and was a lifelong area resident.  Ken was a United States Navy Veteran.  Ken was employed as a machinist with Electromotive in LaGrange, IL.  After retirement he enjoyed working at Hollywood Casino in Aurora.

Ken was a well loved man who made friends with everyone he met.  When he wasn’t reading or watching old western movies, he enjoyed doing yard work and tending to his garden.  Ken enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Cheryl (nee Seeman) Wonders; his children, Kim (Jim) Gotschall, Kenneth (Sharon) Wonders and Kristi Hamilton (fiancé Barry Thomas); grandchildren, Kyle, Kody and Sydnee; and his brothers, Mark (Marlene) Wonders and Tony (Linda) Jubin.   Several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law also survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Iris and Charles Wonders; sister, Sandy Wonders; and his mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Harold Seeman.

Funeral Services for Kendall B. Wonders will be held at10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet.   Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet with full military honors held under the auspices of the United States Navy.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
