Obituary of Glenn Richard Kunkel
Age 73, of Newark, IL passed from this life unexpectedly, Friday, January 14, 2022, at home. He was born December 1, 1948, in Wisconsin and had resided in rural Newark most all of his life. He was a graduate of Newark High School with the class of 1966. He married Naomi Peterson on April 27, 1968, at Immaculate Conception Church in Morris, IL.
He is the beloved father of Kevin (Tara) Kunkel, Lisa (Jeff) Jacobson, and Todd (Jennifer) Kunkel; proud grandfather of Taylor, Karter and Tanner Kunkel; Rachel and Corey Jacobson; Brooklyn and Morgan Kunkel; dear brother of Susan Kennedy, and fond uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his cherished wife of 48 years, Naomi Kunkel, and his parents, Glenn and Julie Kunkel.
Richard was engaged in farming in the Kendall County area. He was also a seed dealer who appreciated the open land and yields the rich soil of this area would produce. Active in Newark throughout his life, you could find Dick lending a hand and supporting most any cause that would benefit the community he loved.
Due to Covid-19 and the current environment, services for Mr. Kunkel and burial in Fox River Cemetery will be private.
