Donald J. Gorman
Age 80, of Morris, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. Don was born in Morris, the son of the late Frank and Stella (nee Elinowski) Gorman. He was a lifelong resident. Don graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1960. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy (1960-1962). He was a 50-year operating engineer, retiring with Union Local #150.
Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna J. (nee Gantzert) Gorman of Morris; his two children, Daniel M. (Mary) Gorman of Redwood City, CA and Darcy (Robert) Elleson of Morris; eight grandchildren, Dylan (Hayley) and Ryan (Emily) Gorman and Nick (Koertney) Elleson, Holly (Tony) DiNello, Lauren (Brett) Ralston, Jacob (Kelly) Elleson, Carly (Dalton) Gordon, Ethan (Iso) Elleson; 11 great-grandchildren, Liam, Stella, and Kai Elleson, Hazel and Cy DiNello, Wyatt and Donald Ralston, Baker Elleson, Bo, Eilish, and Emme Gordon; three sisters, Pat (Gary) Griffin, Kathy Carey (Randy Bell) and Peggy Strait and nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded by his parents and his brother, Frank Gorman.
As it was Donald’s request, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial gathering for Don will be held Friday, January 21, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 3:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris.
