Obituary of Joyce A. Klosterhoff

Joyce A. Klosterhoff, age 87, a longtime Joliet area resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at her home in Channahon.

Born August 5, 1934 in Anna, IL, she was the daughter of Raymond and Estella Mae (Walker) Merriman.

Joyce was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will never be forgotten by her family and friends.  She loved to crochet and generously shared her talent making blankets and hats for babies in the hospital.  She was an avid dog lover, loved Elvis, and enjoyed following NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr.  She also cherished the friendships she made at St. Elizabeth Residence in Channahon the past few years.

Surviving are her loving son, Michael (Gail) Klosterhoff of Georgetown, TX; her devoted grandchildren, Dawn (Dr. Kristopher) Oswalt, Sean (Melissa) Donnelly, Ryan (Audra) Donnelly, Brian (Theresa) Klosterhoff, Greg Blackwell, Ryan (Courtney) Blackwell and Brett (Ashley) Blackwell; her great-grandchildren, Emma, Jack Kristopher, Nola, Macy, Michael, Brayden, Brinley, Jack, Tess and Aspen; and her beloved dog, Marty

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis J. Klosterhoff (1983); her daughter, Lynn Rae Kraus (2020); son-in-law, Thomas Kraus (2020), daughter-in-law, Sandra Klosterhoff; one sister, Freida (Bon) Edwards; and one brother, Wayne Merriman.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her faithful caregiver, Kim Larkin.

Funeral services for Joyce Klosterhoff will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Dennis.
