Obituary of Winnie R. Bergeson (nee Wall)
Age 85, of Joliet, IL passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, January 23, 2022 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center.
Winnie was born in West Frankfort, IL, a daughter of John C. and Nell F. (nee Troutt) Wall. Shortly after graduating from West Frankfort High School with the class of 1954, she moved to Joliet where she resided her entire adult life.
Survived by her loving daughter, Cheryl R. Bergeson of Chicago, IL; her beloved son, Shaun K. (Kelly) Bergeson of Montgomery, TX; two grandsons, Brady K. and Tyler G. Bergeson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ray K. Bergeson; her parents; two brothers, Jack (the late Jessie) Walls and Ralph L. (the late Polly) Wall; and three sisters, H. Maxine (the late Gaylin) Jackson, Marietta (the late Fred) Kolisek, and Kay C. Wall.
In her younger days, Winnie was employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Company in the accounting department; in later years, she was a self-employed interior design professional. She was a faithful member of Calvary Church of Naperville. Winnie truly cherished all the special moments with her family. She will remain in their hearts forever.
Funeral services for Winnie R. Bergeson were held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet. Entombment followed at Elmhurst Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Calvary Church of Naperville would be appreciated.
