Obituary of Sandra Lee Gordon

Sandra Lee Gordon, age 77, of Wilmington, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Ascension Villa Franciscan.  She is now free from all her pain and sadness.

Born on June 25, 1944 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lila (Ketner) Williams.  For many years, Sandra owned and operated her own beauty salon.  She was a member of Phelan Acres Bible Church in Wilmington and loved serving her Lord by teaching Sunday school, working in Awana Clubs, and most of all enjoyed singing in the church choir.  Sandra was also a very talented artist and loved painting and crafting.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Gary) Kempke; her granddaughter, Vanessa Kempke; her grandsons, Jackson and Jordon Long; and her siblings, Barbara (Ron) Durham and Ron (Janice) Williams.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Joe Long; her second husband, Floyd David Gordon, Sr.; and her son, Rob Long.

Visitation for Sandra Lee Gordon will be held Monday, February 14, 2022 from 9:30 a.m., until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m., at Ridgewood Baptist Church, 1968 Hillcrest Rd., Joliet.  Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Memorials in her name to Ridgewood Baptist Church or Phelan Acres Bible Church would be appreciated.
