Obituary of Donna M. Malek

Donna M. Malek, age 89, of Joliet, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 11, 2022 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center Joliet.

Born May 19, 1932 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Orlando and Helen (Korst) Huber.  She married the love of her life, Martin A. “Marty” Malek, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage until his passing October 15, 2006.  Two daughters, Doreen (1979) and Nancy Jean (1963) also preceded her in death.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Denise (Ken) Lorenc; son, Michael (Diane) Malek; her grandchildren, Josh (Audra), Jeremy, and Nathan Malek, and Haley and Sara Lorenc; and numerous nieces and nephews.

An avid bowler and golfer, Donna also enjoyed playing cards and being a member of a ladies poker club.  She also loved to travel and enjoyed spending time during the winter months in Florida.  She also loved singing for 40 years with the Sweet Adelines, an organization of women singers.

Donna was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her family will always remember and cherish the wonderful memories of the time they spent together. 

Visitation for Donna Malek will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 9:00 a.m., until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.  Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
